it was purely an honour to be present at that event.. so many things to learn and its good to see that there are still people who shares knowledge rather than selling.

at the parallel programming session, the concept behind parallel programming, multi core facility, drawbacks of serial programming, multiple threading and parallel threading, lambda expression usage etc were discussed..

next there was a discussion on the improvements and changes in the base class library of the dot net framework 4.0 were discussed with the history of the the .net ..

lets just not talk about lunch.. felt like celebrating manage ceremony.

frankly I have barely heard of the entity framework as because of my lack of interest on database programming. but not any more.. Rajiv popat is a great person.. he made the session so much more interesting.. i few quotes on his chitchats...

i> what is a var type.. he says.. "if it looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck,, then may be its a duck". this is how the compiler thinks when it gets a var data type..
ii> how to be technology aware!! ... he says.."attend some technology awareness program and sit silent as if you don't give a shit. then attend some more and start raising hands sometimes.. and finally go on to the stage and make a complete fool out of your self.."....

the day ends with a give-away of some murchendices...

cant wait for the next one..

6th National IT aptitude test

sundays r fun days..
21 feb had an added reason to the fun. At Avinav Bharti, it was a nice little exam that was going on. The aptitude tests are alwas a fun. some really creapy questions with "they all seem correct" type options.

I thought that when I will reach there, atleast afew of techno will be there. the thing i observed that every one is from jadavpur or IEM. what happened to techno people!!

it was a pure shame.

college strike

thursday, another regular day. went to college. did the stupid classes.
I didnt have the 2nd half. but, one of our proud teacher forced us to stay for a guide selection
which could be done at any time on next day. ok. we delt with that. we,"valo chelera" went to our class, and studied to pass the 3 hour gap. suddenly we heard students shouting. we reached the windows and saw everyone is running. it took no time to realize that the 4th years have striked again.
we came out on the ground. saw many, leaving the college by jumping off the walls. soon that attempt also became worthless.
we ware trapped in the college. but, because many was present, it was not s boring at the beginning.
hours we spent on the ground, and chatting with some teachers[who didnt make it out yet].
soon the teachers ware able to escape.
it was late afternoon, when seniors declared that, no one, not even the girls will be let go to home for 1 day.
the panic was pretty good for girls.
in the evening, girls were sent to old building, boys were in new.
and the 4th years!! well most of them used it as a party, celebrating with lots of alcohol.
they broke a lt of fully insured glasses/windows. and thats it.
at late evening, some guardians came and again a chaos. those drunk seniors ware talking with the parents. eventually parents felt more insecured for their daughters.
soon, the principle was drawn in to the field. a lot of worthless talks.principle kept blaming on students for the college's poor campussing [as if we dont know the real picture].
S.R.C was also having hard time explaing that he cares for us and not treading on our future.
but no explaination to where the funds are going, and y not accepting the price values for the companies.
so many insults, still nothing goes through his rotten skin.
media also came to watch the circus.
at about 11.30 pm, the police came[some parents might have called or its the cowered S.R.C]
the seniors culdnt hold them. those who ware able to go home, [parents came to pick up] left.
those who lived at long distances, had to stay in the college for the night.
at about 6 am everyone left.
college buses were arranged to drop the students as near to home as possible.
many teachers were also there for the whole night.

benifits: nothing.
cause of failure: lack of unity,
lack of morality[the seniors are blocking girls, but making way for their girl friends. why? not justified]
lack of aim[if ur calling the strike, y r u drinking and playing? be stable to ur point. ]

aftereffects: college is supposed to be shut down for indefinite period untill management reaches a sollution.

kolkata techdays

Sunday, 7th feb.
it was a very exciting day for me, at the Kolkata techdays. I got to learn many cool features of the latest microsoft products. its really pleasing to notice those huge people to be so down to earth and polite. they r great achivers as well as great lecturers also..
something they said which is very true,-"kolkata doesnt have enough developers or respondable people to encourage them to conduct more of technical sessions here like other metropolitons of India."
I dont know why, but its so true that kolkata lacks passionate programmers.
